One day, my husband came home from work and I was frazzled from chasing kids around the house. He asked what kind of day I was having and I quipped, “I am having a harried housewife kind of day.” And the name stuck. I began providing recipes to my local newspaper in 1996, and then started writing my column in 1997. Shortly thereafter, I started doing a weekly Harried Housewife television segment during the morning news show. In addition to the live show in the studio, I also did a variety of shows including taped holiday specials from my home and live and taped specials from other locations. I did this for seven years and then decided to focus more on writing and recipe development, and make occasional appearances. In addition to my signature workshops, classes, and conferences, I am a speaker, food judge, and am frequently hired by companies for cooking demos and product advancement. I also teach children about healthy eating habits at schools, and volunteer for many charitable organizations. It is my honor and privilege to continue to offer you family-pleasing recipes that make cooking and entertaining fun and easy. I only wish that there was a table big enough where we all could gather and savor good food and good conversation together. In this spirit, here’s wishing you a lifetime of “Happy Cooking,” from my table...to yours. Cheers! Cindy A.k.a.,

I am a harried housewife. Just like many of you, I don’t have a lot of time to spend on meal preparation. As a food writer, television cook, and culinary instructor, I have been creating easy-to-prepare recipes for harried cooks for more than a decade. Click on these links for a variety of recipes: |
